A given line has the equation 10x+2y=-2 .

What is the equation, in slope-intercept form, of the line that is parallel to the given line and passes through the point (0,12)?

Answer:

y=1-5x

Explanation:

10x+2y=2

add subtract 10 from both sides

10x+2y=2

-10x. -10x

so now the equation should look like

2y=2-10x

then after that you have to get the Y variable alone so you have to divide everything by 2

2y÷2 = 2÷2 - 10x÷2

After you divide every term by 2 you slope intercept should be

y= 1-5x
