The price of a pair of headphones is $49.99 before tax. Ron bought the headphones for a 50% discount. He then paid sales tax of 8% on the discounted price.

Answer to Part A: To solve this we must first find out how much of a discount is there. First we must divide 49.99 by 2 which equals about 24.99. After that we minis the discount with the original price, which equals 25.00. Then we divide 25.00 by 8 which equals 3.12. So then the sales tax must be 3.12 dollars.

Answer to Part B- First do all the math from Part A, then just add 3.12 to the price of 25.00. Which equals 28.12 so the answer must be 28.12 Dollars.
