Use the point-slope formula and then solve for y.

y - y_1 = m(x - x_1)

y_1 = 4

x_1 = 3

m = 3

y - 4 = 3(x - 3)

y - 4 = 3x - 9

y = 3x - 9 + 4

y = 3x - 5

Done.

The answer is y=3x-5

You have to find b for this problem because the slope is given. To do that you have to substitute the point into the given equation which is y=3x

4=3(3)+b

Then multiply 3x3

4=9+b

Then subtract 9 on both sides to get b

-5=b

Then put the piece together to get y=3x-5 :)
