Answer:

z =8.49 or 6
√(2)

Explanation:

Do the Pythagorean theorem =
a^(2) +b^(2) =c^(2)

Length of hypotenuse = 8+1=9

length of one side = 3

so, a²+3²=9²

a²+3²=9²

a²=81-9

a²=72

a=√72=8.49 or 6
√(2)

\textsf {Finding y :}

\implies \mathsf {1^(2) + y^(2) = 3^(2)}

\implies \mathsf {y^(2) = 8}

\implies \mathsf {y = 2√(2)}

\textsf {Finding z :}

\implies \mathsf {(2√(2))^(2)+8^(2)=z^(2)}

\implies \mathsf {z^(2) = 72}

\implies \mathsf {z = 6√(2)}
