1/9 of the shirts sold at the shop are striped .5/8 of the remainder are printed .the rest of the shirts are plain shirts .if peter shop has 81 plain colored shirts how many more printed shirts than plain shirt

Answer: 54

Explanation:

Let total shirts be x.

Then, Striped shirts = 1/9x

Remaining Shirts= 8/9x

Therefore, Printed Shirts = 5/8 × 8/9x

= 5/9x

Remaining Shirts

or

Plain Shirts= x - ( 5/9x + 1/9x )

= 3/9x

Acc. to problem,

Plain Shirts=81

Therefore,

3/9x=81

=> x=81×9/3

=> x=27×9=243

Therefore,

Total Shirts= 243
