in 6 days there is 144 hours divide that by 36 (a day and a half) would be 4 so 4 days of the 6 the hens would lay an egg and a half. there is 6 hens divide that by 1.5 would be 4 times that together would be 16 but they laid an egg and a half so add .5x4 so add 2 to the 16 which gives 18
