FROM ROMEO AND JULIET: (MAKE IT A PARAGRAPH) 11. The cause of the “ancient grudge” between the Montagues and the Capulets is never explained. Why do you think Shakespeare chose not to tell us?

What do you think might have been the cause?

What do you think would have happened had Romeo and Juliet gone to their parents and explained their love and asked their families to work out their differences?

I’m pretty sure they would have been separated for a long time and they would have never been able to see each other again

I think Shakespeare didn’t tell us because he wanted us to focus on the love between R AND J. and I think if they would’ve told their parents, their parents would’ve prevented them from seeing each other and locked them up in their houses and find them other ppl to marry.
