What does freedom mean to Jonas? What are the differences between personal freedom and societal freedom? What can our memories teach us about the value of freedom? (You would have to read the giver to understand)

Answer:

To Jonas freedom is the fredom to do what he wants to do. The givernemnt in The Giver causes everything to be the same. Jonas wants something different for everyone and himself.

Personal freedom, which, in turn, is contingent upon other societal factors such as class (and linked to this, social status), creed, gender and caste.

Memories can teach us how much freedom we want or already have.
