The perimeter of a triangle is 84 cm and it's area is 336cm².If one of it's sides is 30 cm find the length of other two sides.​

We can make a system of equations based on the information given

first we can make one for the perimeter

and one for the area using herons formula

(x and y are the two unknown sides)


84=30+x+y


336=√(42(12)(42-x)(42-y))

Now solve for x and y or you can find it by graphing

x and y = 26 and 28, the order does not matter since they are both unkown

so the two sides are 26 and 28
