The Ten Commandments were a rule for The jews to follow in the bible it states that he made the rules knowing they would break them, after they said "Lord, why cant we make our own rules?" and he let them. but they still broke them, today. People say the 10 Commandments are still important because they think it is the way to be accepted by the Lord.
