Solve for x. 3 over x-6 = 7 over x+2

The answer is x = 12.

Cross multiply:
3(x + 2) = 7(x - 6)
3x + 6 = 7x - 42

Switch sides:
3x - 7x = -6 - 42
-4x = -48
x = -48/-4
x = 12
