Reread this passage from the play Acceptance, looking for examples of irony.

JEREMY: Rose, New York is way too expensive, and I don't have any experience doing literally anything at all. How could I?

ROSE: We'll figure it out. You'll… you'll stay with me in my dorm until you figure it out.

JEREMY: Really? Stay in your dorm? I'm sure your roommate would love that. What—you're going to check me into the dorms every time I need to come home?

What type of irony is in this passage?

situational irony
no irony
verbal irony
dramatic irony

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Situational irony is something that happens in an unexpectedly way in a situation. Verbal irony is when something is said that is the opposite of what is meant. (sarcasm) Dramatic irony is when the audience knows something the characters don't know. So, this passage doesn't include any of those. I would say there's no irony, so B; no irony. Let me know if this is wrong! EDIT: I just realized this question was asked in 2020- sorry!
