Answer: From every tragedy throughout history, there was a lesson to be learned. While it may be hidden beneath the sorrow and devastation, the message is there for future generations to learn from. When it comes to the attack on Pearl Harbor, it’s easy to get lost in the fact that over 2,400 Americans lost their lives during the attack and many more were killed after America joined the war, but it’s important not to overlook what can be learned from this tragic event. It’s a lesson learned from every tragic event: the more united we stand, the better off we will be. After Pearl Harbor, the country came together to assist in a war effort that it once vehemently opposed. While Japan thought they were crippling the United States, impeding its ability to join the war in the Pacific, the attack only served to inflame Americans and instigate one of the biggest war efforts in US history.
