4x + 2(3\cdot7) = ?

Now we must solve this equation if x = 5. To do so we must substitute:

4(5)+2(3\cdot7)\\

Using PEMDAS we will solve for the parenthesis first.

4(5)+2(21)

Multiply:

20+(42)

Add:

20+42=62

Final answer: 62
