How can you tell if a formula represents Length, an Area, or Volume? What do you look for in the formula?

(thats the whole question)

Answer:

You can tell when a formula represents each of these by the number of dimensions that are multiplied in the calculation.

Ex:

d = 2r (this would only involve multiplying by one dimension, therefore it is a length)

A = bh (this involves multiplying 2 dimensions, giving a measurement of area)

V = lwh (this involves multiplying 3 dimensions, giving a measurement of volume)
