Answer:

Option D

Explanation:

Based on the question we know that :

36 = x × 1 1/2

To make x the subject we divide both sides by 1 1/2 or 3/2 :

36 ÷ 3/2 = x

x = 24

Therefore our answer is Option D

Hope this helped and have a good day

Answer: D. 'An African elephant can reach a top speed of about 24 mph because 36 ÷ 3/2 = 24'

Explanation:

1(1)/(2) =(3)/(2)

This means the grizzly bear is 3/2 times faster than the elephant

it also means the african elephant's speed would be 2/3 that

therefore,

36 / (3)/(2)=36*(2)/(3)=(72)/(3)

⇒ 24

So, the speed of an African elephant is 24 mph
