What is the slope of a line perpendicular to a given line-example-1

First find slope of line
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
(-2-2)/(1+1) = -4/2 = -2
Perpendicular = opposite sign and reciprocal slope
Answer: slope is 1/2
