Answer: don’t online date without knowing this person first. Call them and make sure they are who they say they are. Become friends with them. Then if you feel like you can trust them, then MAYBE pursue a relationship.

I am dating someone online but I knew them for months before pursuing anything with them and we are now approaching our seventh month together.

That being said, before you consider dating someone, online or irl, make sure you are actually ready to date somebody. Are you dating them to eventually married? Or are you just dating them to combat loneliness or sadness? Are you mature enough to handle a relationship, especially one online?
