The exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the 2 opposite interior angles.

∠ XYZ is an exterior angle of the triangle, thus

10x - 5 = 3x + 17 + 3x + 2

10x - 5 = 6x + 19 ( subtract 6x from both sides )

4x - 5 = 19 ( add 5 to both sides )

4x = 24 ( divide both sides by 4 )

x = 6

Thus

∠ WXY = 3x + 2 = 3(6) + 2 = 18 + 2 = 20°
