Have you ever thought about the things you cherish or hold dear to your heart? What do they mean to you? We all have something that we love and would never give up. Each of what motivates you plays a big role in your life. Just like Lemon Brown had his newspapers clippings and harmonica he had someone special that motivated him. I also have my own special belongings that I get motivated by.
My first item is a picture of my best friend Elissar and I. we have been friends for almost four years and she is a girl with great intelligence, even though she is younger than me she acts like an adult. I have chosen this item because she is the only person that has always been there for me through good and bad. She motivates me to never give up and she brings out the best of me, and I always feel comfortable sharing my secrets with her and I know she has my secrets safe.
The second item I chose has big significance to me from the side of school. It’s what my friends wrote to me in the end of the year. I have never been successful in making friends in my old schools but when I came here I had a lot of fun making friends. Not only my friends wrote down my teachers did too. They gave my confidence by pointing out the best of me by just words on paper.
My third item is probably the most valuable of all the items. My mother got it for me on my birthday it is a watch and a charm bracelet all together. She got it for me because the charms somehow sum me up the key, purse, flower say something about me. The key says that I still have a lot to discover and a lot of new doors to open. The purse basically says that I love shopping. The flower says that I am beautiful. It motivates me to stay the same and what I have is magnificent.
The fourth item is a guitar that I enjoy to play and love. I am a big fan of the band one direction and one of the band members plays guitar and his name is Niall Horan. He inspires me with the passion he has for the instrument he holds in his hand. He motivates me to play more often and I try to asses him tentatively when he plays so I can be like him.
My fifth item is a bronze star and it represents a challenge to me because I was challenged in P.E. I am a big fan of sports I like to watch and play it. Especially football and basketball. Last year there was this little activity at a sports club and I entered to have a shot and see how fun it will be. Every single day there would be a new challenge like running, football etc. I was really happy when I got chosen to be one of the top people. What challenged me was to stay up on my feet and not fall because of how tiring it is. It motivated me to try harder and never stop.
Lemon brown had his harmonica and newspaper clippings he gave them to his son Jesse when he went to war and when his son died he got them back and always had them with him and considered it to be a treasure. “They sent back what had with him over there, and what it was is this old mouth fiddle and these clippings. Him carrying it around with him like that told me it meant something to him. That was my treasure, and when I give it to him he treated it just like that, a treasure. Aint that something?”
I have a lot more in my life that motivate me and that are like my treasure. Even though you don’t see diamonds in front of your eyes but I am pretty sure they are worth a lot of gold. As long as you have someone or something to motivate you everything will be O.K.
