Help please

David is building a triangular garden bed. He has boards that measure 3 feet, 2 feet, and 7 feet. Can he build his
triangular garden bed using these without cutting them? Explain.

Answer: No

Explanation:

According to the Triangle Inequality Theorem, the Sum of 2 Sides of a Triangle should be greater than the Third Side.

Therefore,
3 + 2 = 5 (< 7) - Case 1
2 + 7 = 9 (> 7) - Case 2
3 + 7 = 10 (> 7) - Case 3

In the 1st Case, the sum of 2 sides is lesser than the third side. So he can’t build his triangular garden bed with boards of these measures without cutting them.

Answer: No it's not possible to form a triangle

Why not? Because the shorter sides 2 ft and 3 ft don't add to a result longer than 7 ft

2+3 = 5

For a triangle to be possible, the sum of any two sides must be larger than the third side. Refer to the triangle inequality theorem.
