Division

Division is to separate a value by a given value.

For example, 12 ÷ 2 means to separate 12 into 2 groups. Now the answer would be how much would be in one group...

That would be 6.

000000000000

Divide into 2 EQUAL groups

000000

000000

There is 6 in one group.

Subtraction

Subtraction is to take away a value from a given value.

For example, 16 - 2 means to take away 2 units from 16.

That would be 14.

00000000000000

Take away 2 circles.

What's left? 12!
