A container has peppermint gum and spearmint gum. There are 32 pieces of peppermint gum in the container and the ratio of peppermint gum to spearmint gum is 8 to 7. Find the number of pieces of spearmint gum in the container.

off the top of my head I think that there is 28 pieces in there

Explanation:

well 32 divided by 8 is 4 and 7 times 4 is 28 . so there would be 28 pieces of gum in the spearmint pack .

I think the answer is 28 prices of spearmint gum because 32/8=4 so if you multiply 7*4 you get 28??????
