How are the convection currents found in Earth’s air and oceans similar?

Both the ocean and atmosphere have rising air/water and cooling air/water.

in the atmosphere, as the air gets warmer, it rises up. when the air gets cooler , it sinks down. When the water gets warmer due to either sunshine or geothermic properties , it rises up as surface currents which have their own unique pathway
