An architect created a scale model of what a college campus will look like once construction is finished. The scale for the model is 2 in. : 25 ft. The tallest building in the model is 10 intall. How tall is the actual building?

Answer: 125ft

Explanation:

In the model, we have the relation:

2in = 25ft

This means that 2 inches in the model represent 25ft for the actual college campus.

Then, if the building is 10 inches tall in the model, we have:

How many groups of 2 inches we have in 10 inches?

10in/2in = 5

And we know that each one of these 2 inches represent 25ft, then 5 of them are 5 times 25 ft:

The height of the building is 5*25ft = 125ft
