From the picture attached,

m∠AOD = 90°

By applying Pythagoras theorem in the right triangle AOD,

AD² = AO² + OD²

AD² = 6² + (2.5)²

AD = √42.25

AD = 6.5 units

Therefore, length of side AD is 6.5 units.
