coordinates are (-4,2)

equation :

4x + 5y < - 7

substituting values of x and y in equation :

4( - 4) + 5(2)

= - 16 + 10 \\ = - 6 > - 7

which is not the required solution as - 6 is greater than -7

therefore (-4,2) is not the solution

Answer:

(-4,2) is NOT a solution

Explanation:

In this question, we have to see if the coordinate is a solution to the inequality.

To do this, plug in and solve:

4(-4) + 5(2) < -7

-16 + 5(2) < -7

-16 + 10 < -7

-6 < -7

Since -6 is not less than -7, this would be false.

Therefore, (-4,2) is NOT a solution.
