Given:

The equation is

2(x+14)=40

To find:

The solution of the given equation.

Solution:

We have,

2(x+14)=40

Using distributive property, we get

2(x)+2(14)=40

2x+28=40

Subtracting 28 from both sides.

2x=40-28

2x=12

On dividing both sides by 2, we get

x=6

Therefore, the solution of the given equation is x = 6.
