Given:

A line passes through (-2,-6) and has a slope of
(1)/(3).

To find:

The point slope form of the given line.

Solution:

If a line passes through a point
(x_1,y_1) with slope m, then the slope intercept form of the line is

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

The line passes through (-2,-6) and has a slope of
(1)/(3). So, the point slope form of the line is

y-(-6)=(1)/(3)(x-(-2))

y+6=(1)/(3)(x+2)

Therefore, the correct option is A.
