Can someone check if i did it correctly?

question - in one sentence, explain the first step a member of Congress needs to take to make a law.

my answer - the bill is drafted/made then sponsored, the idea is soon presented whilst the house is in session, then assigned to a committee to study before it gets voted on.

Answer:

As per my suggestion, The bill or raw/law is made then it is handed to the government, the bill or raw / law is presented in the house of representatives, then it is given to asssign to the numbers of members of the community and if it is succedeed then it becomes a law
