the area (A) of a trapezoid is calculated as

(1)/(2) h (b₁ + b₂ )

where h is the height and b₁, b₂ the parallel bases

here h = 10 , b₁ = 12 , b₂ = 8 , then

A =
(1)/(2) × 10 × (12 + 8) = 5 × 20 = 100 m²
