Answer:

1) I just simply added the numerators because the denominators of both fractions are equal. As the denominators are same , I simply wrote 6 by taking the L.C.M of both denominators.

(5x - 3)/(6) + (x - 9)/(6)


= > (5x - 3 + x - 9)/(6)


= > (6x - 12)/(6)

Taking 6 common from numerator,


= > (6(x - 2))/(6)

Cancelling 6 from both numerator & denominator,


= > x - 2
