Heritage Middle School has 150 students. Two out of three students in Mrs. Masons class prefer gel toothpaste. use this rate to predict how many students inthe entire Middle School prefer gel toothpaste.

Answer:

100 students.

Explanation:

First because it says "..2 out of 3" you have 2 boxes (i'm using a tape diagram) for the students that prefer gel toothpaste and 1 box for the others/don't prefer gel toothpaste students. Since there are 150 students in the school in total you will divide the number of students (150) by the 3 boxes and get 50. Each box will be filled with 50. Students that prefer gel toothpaste : 50 x 2 = 100 (students) Students that don't prefer gel toothpaste : 50 x 1 = 50 (students).

100 bc 150/3 = 50x2=100 this equation vary on the percent bc if it was 3/3 then u would devide by 3 then times 3 get it?
