Change second equation
x + 2y = 2
x = -2y + 2
Plug that into first
-3(-2y + 2) - 4y = 2
6y - 6 - 4y = 2
2y = 8, y = 4
Plug in 4 for y
-3x - 4(4) = 2
-3x - 16 = 2
-3x = 18, x = -6
The answer: x = -6, y = 4
