Explanation:

3x + 2y = 8

2x + 5y = -2

so: x= 8÷3 - 2÷3 y

and 2x + 5y= -2

2( 8÷3 -2÷3y) + 5y = -2

y= -2

x= 8÷3 - 2÷3 x (-2)=

x= 4
