A factory robot recently examined some bulbs, of which 2 were flawed and 36 were not. Considering this data, how many flawed bulbs would the robot be expected to find in a batch of 19 bulbs?

Answer: 1 bulb

Explanation:

Using the proportion of flawed bulbs in the first scenario, you can get the number of flawed bulbs in the other bath.

First scenario total bulbs = 2 + 36 = 38

Proportion of flawed bulbs = 2/38 = 1/19

In a batch of 19, the flawed bulbs are;

= 1/19 * 19

= 1 bulb
