Answer:

because the price of 2 adult tickets and 4 child tickets is $48

=> 2x + 4y = 48 (*)

the price of 5 adult tickets and 2 child tickets is $64

=> 5x + 2y = 64 (**)

from (*) to (**), we have:

\left \{ {{2x+4y=48} \atop {5x+2y=64}} \right.\\\\<=>\left \{ {{10x+20y=240} \atop {10x+4y=128}} \right.\\\\=>\left \{ {{20y-4y=240-128} \atop {2x+4y=48}} \right.\\\\<=>\left \{ {16y=112} \atop {2x+4y=48}} \right.\\\\<=>\left \{ {{y=7} \atop {x=10}} \right.

so the ticket price for one adult is $10

the tickey price for one child is $7

+) a family that consists of 2 adults and 3 childs so they need have:

2.10 + 3.7 = 41 ($)

=> their budget isnt high enough
