Please answer each of the following questions in complete sentences.

1. Although working out with friends has many benefits, what are some possible drawbacks? Explain.

2. One of the benefits of working out with others is that it can keep you safe. What are some activities that may be safer when performed with other people? Explain.

3. One of the tips given for keeping the group happy is to give feedback. Imagine that you are playing soccer and you notice that one of your teammates isn’t sharing the ball and isn’t working as a team member very well. How would you give them feedback in a kind and helpful way?

4. The unit talks about how great athletes or fitness figures don’t always stick to one activity and like to switch it up, like Dwain Chambers. Can you think of any other athletes or fitness figures who participated in more than one activity professionally? Why do you think they do this?

5. The unit discusses the four stages of group building in fitness—forming, storming, norming, and performing. Do you think that these four stages can be applied to other types of situations or activities besides fitness? Discuss and give an example

Answer:

1. 2 possible drawbacks is getting distracted and if the friend hasn’t been working out as long as you, they would do easy things you have already done and not get your full workout.

2. Safer activities are taking a run in a safe place that not a ton of people go but still a little people. Another one is weight lifting that wouldn’t be too heavy to the point you would drop it.

3. In a nice way of giving feedback, I would use manners and a kind voice and ask for them to pass the ball instead of keeping it to themselves.

4. Bo Jackson is another athlete that does this. I think they do this because it is to stay healthy and keep strength.

5. Yes, I do think because performing is when you basically show what you can do or show off your strength in fitness, but you can perform basically a ton of things. In fitness, forming is when you start to increase your muscles/strength, but you can increase other things, such as growing taller by what you are eating and more. Norming is where you show different things you can do from other people. You can show different things you can do for other things, such as if you can make cookies and someone else can make cupcakes. Finally, storming is when you and maybe some other people face uncertain things, but you can face uncertain things in more things like a subject in a class and more.
