1) x= 3i, x= - 3i

2) x= +i
√(7), x = - i

Explanation:

1) x^2+9=0

(x+3i)(x-3i)=0

x= 3i, x=-3i

2) x^2-4=-11

x^2=-7

x= ±i
√(7)

x= +i
√(7), x = - i
