Answer: Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women, and people of most racial and ethnic groups in the United States. ... This includes the cost of health care services, medicines, and lost productivity due to death. Plaque buildup thickens and stiffens artery walls, which can inhibit blood flow through your arteries to your organs and tissues. Atherosclerosis is also the most common cause of cardiovascular disease. It can be caused by correctable problems, such as an unhealthy diet, lack of exercise, being overweight, and smoking.

Answer:

Because medicine has improved so much that other ways of death have become uncommon. With antibiotics infections can almost always ben cured. But obesity and hereditary traits can cause cardiovascular diseases which are harder to get rid of since there is no medication to just get rid of it like it would an infection.
