Answer:

\boxed{18q+31}

Solution Steps:

______________________________

1.) Use distributive property to multiply the parenthesis:

  • 2 ×
    (8+3q)=16+6q

  • 3 ×
    (4q+5)=12q+15

- You do this because you always solve parenthesis first.

Equation at the end of Step 1:

  • 16+6q+12q+15

2.) Combine like terms:

  • 6q+12q=18q

- You do this because you can't have more than one variable.

Equation at the end of Step 2:

  • 16+18q+15

3.) Add:

  • 16+15=31

Equation at the end of Step 3:

  • 18q+31
