Should the government have the power to quarantine people that have committed no crime? and why?

Yes, because it is for the safety of the citizens and the best option. Really, commuting crime has nothing to do with quarantine.

Answer:

Depends on the situation. Typically, no.

Step-by-step explanation:

Unlawful detainment is absolutely a no-no. If someone is innocent, they should not be detained against their will, and especially not quarantined.

Situations where it's moral:

Patient with highly contagious illness should be quarentined to avoid spreading it to others.

Mentally ill patient who is a threat to the safety of others should be quarentined to avoid injury of others.
