Answer:

A) infinitely many solutions

Explanation:

2x - y = 8

4x - 2y = 16

simplify the first equation

2x - y = 8

2x = 8 + y

2x - 8 = y

y = 2x - 8

substitute y for 2x - 8 in the second equation

4x - 2y = 16

4x - 2(2x - 8) = 16

4x - 4x + 16 = 16

4x - 4x = 16 - 16

0x = 0

since no matter what x is, 0 = 0, the answer is infinitely many solutions
