Answer:

oppressively: this adverb is used to refer to the clouds. It made fell feel, along with the rest of the passage, suffocated, as if the world was caving in.

hideous: this adjective appears in a passage in which the narrator describes the house, connecting its appearance to a feeling of depression like the one cause by opium. It inspired fear in me, a sense that something bad will take place in that house.

encrimsoned: this adjective is used to describe the light that shines in through the windows of what will be the narrator's room. It made me nervous. A light of reddish color would seem strange, unnatural, somewhat apocalyptic.

cadaverousness: this noun is used to describe Usher's complexion. It is quite scary and surprising to think someone can look like a cadaver, a dead body.

ghastly: the narrator uses this adjective again to talk of Usher's appearance, his skin's "hue". It conveys the idea that Usher looks terrifying, macabre.

Step-by-step explanation:

Descriptive language uses words that help create a vivid image in readers' minds. Effect descriptive language helps us see, hear, taste, and feel - in our imaginations, of course - what the characters see, hear, taste, and feel. Word choice is crucial to convey the right feelings, the describe proportions and appearances of objects and people. Edgar Allan Poe was a master of descriptive language use. His horror stories would have been much less scary and astonishing had he not known how to create a vivid picture.
