Answer:

1. Directly put 6 in place of x so it would be.

-5(6) + 2 = -4*7

-30 + 2 = -28

-28 = -28

2. Find the value of x.

-5x + 2 = -7*4

-5x = -28 - 2

-5x = -30

x = 6 (because 30 is divisible by 5 at 6)

3. Make Right hand side and Left hand side equal. To make it equal just put 6 in place of x.

(-5(6) + 2)/7 = -4

(-30 + 2)/7 = -4

-28/7 = -4

-4 = -4

RHS = LHS (hence proved x = 6)
