change the equation to y = mx + b


4y - x = 2 \: →y = mx + b


y = (1)/(4) x + (1)/(2)

plug in the point (1,2)


(2) = (1)/(4) (1) + (1)/(2)


(2) = (3)/(4)


y = (1)/(4) x + (3)/(4)
