Bob needs to hire someone to mow his lawn and rake his leaves. His neighbor's son charges $36 to mow

plus $5 for each leaf bag he fills. His niece charges $60 to mow plus $2 for each leaf bag she fills,


Write an equation to determine the number of bags for which the two costs would be the same.

Answer:8 bags

Explanation:

S(x) = 36+5x

N(x) = 60+2x

Then set them equal to find the number of bags that they are the same

36+5x=60+2x

3x=24

x=8
