Answer:

See Below for Answer!

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

Firstly, Spain is located in West Europe nest to the North Atlantic Ocean. India is located in South Asia. The best possible route, at the time, to get to India would be to sail down the west coast of Africa all the way to "The Cape of Good Hope" The southernmost part of the continent. This would allow for me and my crew to restock supplies along the mainland (assuming that the natives were friendly), know the general area where we were in our expedition, and not get lost at sea as we can simply follow the coast. from there I would continue down the eastern coast of Africa, sailing through the Mozambique channel all the way past modern day Yemen and Oman to India! A few difficulties we might have along the way relate to unpredictable weather patterns, The Doldrums as we navigate the west and east coasts, and our precious lemon juice, which helps prevent scurvy, running out due to lack of supply.

A visualized image of my route is pictured below, keep in mind this is the best route for the time, today it is much easier to sail through the Suez Canal (built in 1859).

Hope this Helps!

H.M.
