I'm going to assume you start with

(6^2 - 4 (3 - √(25))^2)/(|4 - 8|)

Let's simplify some pieces of this:

6^2 = 6*6 = 36

√(25) = √(5^2) = 5

(3 - √(25))^2 = (3 - 5)^2 = (-2)^2 = (-2)*(-2) = 4

|4 - 8| = |-4| = 4

So as a first step we can reduce this to

(6^2 - 4 (3 - √(25))^2)/(|4 - 8|) = \frac{36-4*4}4

Now,

36 = 9*4

so every term contains a factor of 4 that we can cancel:

\frac{36-4*4}4 = \frac{9*4-4*4}4 = \frac{9-4}1 = 9-4 = \boxed{5}

as expected.
