So for example, using d's table, I would substitute -4 for x: y = -3(-4) + 2, the answer would be 14, which is in the y column. I will do the same thing using the next variable in the x column, y = -3(-2) + 2, that would equal 8, which is also in the y column, this would not serve true in any other tables.
